If you’re looking for an energy boost, this smoothie is perfect. Avocado and Banana are a great combo! We’ve also added a few extra ingredients to really give you that boost that most of us need. Avocado is incredibly nutritious, full of fibre and healthy fats. Bananas as we know spike your energy levels. Apples are a great source of slow release energy. Spinach has a high source of antioxidants and inflammatory properties protecting your body from a wide range of diseases. To get the most out of Spinach we recommend consuming this superfood raw by adding it to your smoothies. We also love adding Barley grass to our smoothies. Barley grass powder has been shown to boost the immune system, alkalinize the body, increase energy and many other health benefits. Chia seeds are interesting little seeds, don’t be fooled by their tininess. Chia is the ancient Mayen word for strength and these wonderful little seeds are known for their ability to provide sustainable energy. Chia seeds are loaded with fibre, protein, antioxidants and deliver a high amount of nutrients with very few calories.
- 1 small Avocado
- 1/2 Banana
- 1 Cup of Spinach (or Kale)
- 1 Apple
- 1 tsp Barley grass powder
- Almond milk or Coconut milk (or a milk of your choice)
- Chia seeds
Place all ingredients into your blender, we recommend starting with half a cup of any plant based milk of your choice and increase from there, depending on how thick you like your smoothies.
